Research interest:

I finished my diploma study at the Institute for Evolutionary Biology and Ecology in March 2008. I examined six populations of the three-spined stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus) from the Outer Hebrides, Scotland, originating from two distinct photic habitats, with respect to their reproductive and paternal behaviour as well as the males´ courtship colouration.
In my PhD thesis I will continue to examine the Scottish populations and will focus on the influence of differing natural and sexual selection in both habitat types with special respect to perception of signals in the visible and the ultraviolet wave range and its adaptive value.
