Welcome to the Institute of Evolutionary Biology and Ecology
The Institute of Evolutionary Biology and Ecology houses three professorships dealing with the phylogeny of animals and underlying evolutionary mechanisms:
- Zoology and Evolutionary Biology (Prof. Dr. Thomas Bartolomaeus)
- Evolutionary and Behavioural Ecology (Prof. Dr. Theo Bakker)
- Causal and historic evolutionary biology (Prof. em. Dr. Klaus Peter Sauer)
In these research units multipe approaches are applied ranging from genetic analyses over histological, immunhistochemical and ultrastructural techniques to behavioural studies under lab and field conditions.
